Spinner Card

Video Tutorial Friday!!  :-)

This style of card is an oldie but goodie.  One of the first one that I learned how to make.  SO much fun and the reason that I bought all the pennies off of my son when he rolled his ages ago.  LOL

This card featured was a project from the fall and I have been having troubles posting so it is late in getting to you all.  Halloween has come and gone but the card style itself is timeless and you can substitute any stamps and themes that you like.

ENJOY!!

Happy Stampin!

Hello Stampers!

I have a quick and easy video tutorial for you today.
Usually I have photos of the project to go along with the video but I can't find them!  Can you imagine?!?!

I am certain I did take some but the proof is no where to be found.  SO, I will have to watch my own video and create some more! HA!  :-)

Here is the tutorial to make a fun little self closing box to hold some yummy treats.
Happy Stampin'!

How I Project Life - Part 3

Stampin' Up! released these fabulous videos about Project Life and I wanted to share them with you.
I have been a scrapbooker for years but found it hard to stay motivated as I always found I was so far behind in documenting my photos.  Once I found Project Life when Stampin' Up! first started partnering with Becky Higgins I was hooked!!!!!!
I LOVE IT!

I can actually catch up, get my life events documented and still have FAB pages that look fantastic.  I do still get the odd traditional scrap page done but I think that only adds to the fabulousness of the album when the two worlds collide.

I will post more about my PL pages soon but I wanted to share these videos with you so that you can get a feel for that PL is all about and how others use the tools.

Happy Stampin!

Birthday Party invite

Here is a pic of the birthday party invite that I created this past fall for my son's 10th birthday.  He was so excited to have a gaming themed party at the local comic book store.

I know this set is long retired but I am SOOOO glad I kept it for just this reason!!!  I love the way this turned out.  :-)

Jay and the gang from Cape and Cowl Comics were amazing as always and the birthday party was a success!!  We had one happy kid on our hands.

Happy Stampin'!

Paper wreaths - SO FUN!!

It was about three or four years ago that first fell in love with a paper curl wreath that I saw on Pinterest.
I saw the tutorial and figured it seemed easy enough to make and I knew exactly the DSP that I wanted to use.  The metallics in this DSP pack were awesome (I can't rememeber the name of it now!) and I bought and used this paper more than any other since I have been an SU demonstrator.

Here is the winter themed wreath that I made.

This past winter when I pulled it out of storage it was looking a bit drab.  I knew I had to find a way to spruce it up somehow.  I was SOOOOOO thankful when a friend of mine had an entire pack of this paper on hand!!  JACKPOT!  :-)  I was able to remove some of the sun stained pieces and put new ones in fluffing it up and making it look nice and pretty again.  YAY!

I knew I was going to be making another paper curl wreath this past fall so I had a few changes in mind.  I used an entire pack of DSP and three sheets of 12x12 pumpkin pie card stock cut into 1" strips for a 12" green foam wreath. I had a few left over when I was done.
Once the paper was cut I used my bone folder to curl both ends of all the pieces.
Then I used straight pins (with a head on them) and my E6000 glue.  I stuck the pin through the middle (flat part) of the DSP/card stock and then dipped it in the glue before inserting it in the foam wreath.  I was hoping this would secure the pins and give the paper something to stick to as well.  So far it seems to be working!!!
I attached my coordinating ribbon to the wreath first (just looped it around and tied the top) then secured it with pins and glue.  I used that as a starting point for my paper curls and kept adding them until it was a full as I wanted.

Here is the finished product...

Hope you enjoyed the short tutorial.  Have fun making your own paper curl wreaths!!  :-)

One of my favorite crafts...

I made these a few years ago now.  If you are an avid Stampin' Up! crafter then you will know this, seeing as they haven't sold fabric in a while!  :-)

I used two sheets out of the three in the SU fabric packs and a fabric adhesive sheet (purchased at Fabricville here in Halifax) between them.  Simple to iron together...love it when it is THAT easy! Then straight stitching every so often to make 10 (ten) even marker slots.  I added ribbon to one end that can tie the package closed when the lid is folder over and the entire thing is rolled together like a jelly roll.  :-)

I have one of these for every colour family.  At first they were my main marker storage as I bought my markers by family and for some strange reason you can't get SU storage for them if you buy them that way!!  WHAT?!   ;-)  ...so I made my own. HA!

Since then I have been able to purchase the entire marker set (and therefore have a case!) and now these fabulous packs are my class/workshop marker storage and it is great!  I have a new (not so new now!) set of markers for home crafting and an almost whole set for classes/workshops.  YAY!!

Thought I would share as I have been using these a lot as of late and they are super easy to make!
Enjoy!
