Time for some fibre arts - Part Deux!

I know that it has turned into a beautiful spring, getting warmer and warmer everyday.  However, I actually like this time of year for knitting smaller projects.
I am always knitting.  I have 4 WIP (works in progess) at the moment!!  I enjoy having small projects going in the summer so that I don't get too hot when I knit.  I save the fall/winter for my bigger projects so that I stay warm!  LOL  The scrapghan that I put together this past winter was awesome...it kept my warm while I crocheted!!  :-)

This past winter I was looking for new hats.  I don't look at a store....I head on over to ravelry.com and find my faves there!!
I have fallen in love with The Velvet Acorn.  Her patterns are totally YUMMY!!  Take a look here...

This was the second hat that I made.  I always enjoy green and thought that a bright colour would bring out the pattern in this cloche hat.

Such silky and smooth yarn,  nice to work with and a DELIGHT to wear.  Repetitive pattern is nice and quick once you get the hang of the stitches.  Quick knit overall.  I would definitely make another.  :-) ...one in every colour!!!!!!

This was the first of the hats that I made.  Thick yarn, (I used lion brand thick and quick) and I thought I would try a colour that I don't usually.  Me likey!

The brim doesn't stay in place as much as I would like but I still love it and I wore it tons!!!

Have fun browsing ravelry and The Velvet Acorn.  In creating this post and finding the links for it I have already found 4 more of her patterns that I NEEEEEEED to try! :-)

Card box tutorial

These past few days I have been looking for a gift for my sons music teacher.  She has been wonderful in helping him earn his Cubs Music Badge.

I knew I wanted one part of the gift to include a package of hand stamped cards, however I am out of thick ribbon to wrap them up in (my go to!)  So I thought why not an envelope.....big enough to hold a bunch of cards!!

First up, some photos of the different card boxes that I made.  Now that I now how, I can't stop making them.  LOL

This first one is using Maritime DSP and you will notice my One Sheet Wonder cards are back.  I coordinated the colours to create two different packs of cards ready to gift.

This second pack I kept neutral and used my Guy Greetings creations to fill the card boxes.
Neither of these are the gift for his music teacher.  :-)  I have a pattern/theme in mind for her cards and those will be created this weekend.

Here is the video tutorial so you can make your own!  You will be hooked and then all your card stash will suddenly be sorted into groups and boxed, ready to gift!  LOL
ENJOY!

Lip Gloss Holder

This little box was so much fun to make.  I made them as gifties for my club ladies for the end of Sale-A-Bration.

This little box fits a standard sized lip gloss perfectly!
I found this picture link on pinterest which was great.  The photos had the captions right in it.  Unfortunately the link was just a photo and I don't have an original source to credit and send you to.

I took my prototype and then made a video, 'cause I find that easier to follow.
If anyone knows the original creator please post in the comments section either on the blog or youtube channel and I will be sure to edit the posts to give credit.

This DSP stack is for V-day but I have used this pack right to the very last drop!!  DEFINITELY get your hands on some of this paper before it retires soon.  Technically for valentine's but I have used this since January.  Not all patterns are blatantly hearts a flutter and this paper can be used for other occasions.

Here are some pics of the petite box.

Enjoy!!

Treat Bag

This is it!  The FIFTH and final video tutorial from May Stamp Club.

We used Gold Soiree DSP for this treat bag which was perfect!  Like I have written in previous posts, we didn't DO ANY STAMPING at club.  GASP!  So I wanted to make our projects pretty by using SU DSP to show off the wonderful patters.

The gold soiree paper is perfect because it is a bit thicker and has a wonderful sheen to it.  Perfect for these bags.  This one can be a bit tricky so be sure to watch the video in full and then use it to pause and make your first one step by step.  They are SO much fun.  I have made tons!!  I am addicted to these now.  LOL

Here are some pics of the ones we made at club...

Long Thin Flip Top Box

The Fourth video tutorial for my May Stamp Club projects.

We had soooo much fun creating five different ways to wrap up any kind of gift you find yourself gifting.  This long think box is just perfect for tea lights, lip balms, chocolate bars, bracelets, etc, etc.

I have used quite a bit of this Back To Black DSP this past year.  I love it.  Coordinates with lots of different colours, you can colour some of the sheets to match it to card stock, and the patterns are everything from subtle to BOLD in this pack.  If you haven't tried it yet, get some before it is gone.
:-)

Here is the tutorial!  ENJOY!
